Empathetic and Effective Addictions Counseling in Louisiana

Louisiana Addiction Counseling Services

Chances are that you or someone you love struggles with addiction.

Addiction has plagued society for many years, and it is time for you to take a stand.

It may be time to ask yourself a few questions:

  • Did you start drinking socially, only to have a good time with friends?

  • Is your drinking causing issues in your life?

  • Have your relationships changed?

  • Has your family asked you to cut down on your drinking?

  • Have thoughts of substances taken up a lot of your time?

Whether you came to this point in your life after hitting rock bottom, or you are trying to prevent hitting rock bottom, there is a place for you here.

Most of the time, substance use is a mechanism used to cope with other difficult areas in your life. Using substances can seem like a way out of the internal struggles going on in your life.

But now, this “way out” is way out of control.

Is there hope for you?

  • Can you imagine a life free from addictions?

  • Who would you be if you were able to release yourself from the shackles of substances?

  • What would your life look like if you were able to manage your addiction while overcoming your internal struggles?

Addiction counseling is for you. You might be thinking… “but I don't look like a typical addict.” I know and I have seen that addiction impacts people from every background and walk of life - addiction does not discriminate.

Counseling with a licensed addiction counselor can help you uncover those internal challenges that led to your addiction.

What is addiction?

Addiction is defined by the American Society of Addiction Medicine as “a treatable, chronic medical disease involving complex interactions among brain circuits, genetics, the environment, and an individual’s life experiences”.

Research shows that 40.3 million Americans struggle with a substance use disorder. This prevalence of this in our society shows that:

  1.  You are not alone

  2.  We have to work together to overcome this pandemic in our communities.

Addiction might look like:

  • Spending time and money seeking out substances

  • Co-dependency on others

  • Issues with holding a job or performing at work

  • Relationship issues

About Me:
A Licensed Addiction Counselor from Louisiana

Hi, I’m Arlo, a Louisiana native and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC). I was raised in a loving Christian home, where my grandmother prayed for me every day. I felt the strength of those prayers many years later, as I worked toward my recovery.

Throughout my teenage years, I struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. I continually chose my addiction over pursuing the right path. Many poor decisions later and after many years of struggle, I knew it was time to make a change.

Through a 12-step program and a rehabilitation facility, I discovered hope and the beauty of sobriety.

Over the years, I maintained a strong connection to the 12-step program.  I began to see restoration in relationships that had been damaged due to my addictions. I started a personal journey towards being a business owner. Through a successful lawn care business, I was able to go back to school –  with a fire lit inside of me –  to support those, with similar struggles, to transform their lives.

It has been my honor and privilege to work with Conquering Additions and the many clients that I serve.

Do you use a 12-step program?

I incorporate principles from the 12-step program into my work with clients. Each person is unique and requires a specific treatment plan tailored to individual needs.

How does payment work?

I currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and a few other insurances. Please inquire if you are interested in billing through your insurance. My session costs are: $100 for initial session & $60 following sessions

How often do we meet?

I typically meet with my clients once a week for one hour.
